Aspiring to be like One Punch Man, but can’t really push get yourself to do the “One-Punch Man Workout Challenge” (a grueling 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and running over 10 km for 30 days)? Well you can now achieve your dreams to be as strong as Saitama in the comfort of your couch, as Bandai Namco has just revealed that they are developing a video game based on the One-Punch Man franchise. Entitled One-Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, the game is described by Bandai Namco Entertainment as a three-on-three action-fighting game where players get to control characters in the franchise such as Saitama, Genos, Hellish Blizzard, Speed-o’-Sound Sonic, Mumen Rider, and many more! Check out the official trailer for the game below!
While no definite date has been set for its release, Bandai Namco confirmed that the game will be released for the Play Station 4, Xbox One, and PC for Western markets. On the other hand, Japan will only get the Play Station 4 and Xbox One release.
One Punch Man started out in 2009 as a webcomic created by a manga artist known by the pseudonym ONE. It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who seeks to find a worthy opponent as he has grown tired of always winning against his enemies by just using a single punch.
The first season, animated by Madhouse, aired from October to December 2015. In 2017 however, it was announced that the franchise would be switching anime studios; with JC Staff now producing the second season. The 2nd season premiered in April 2019, with Chikara Sakurai taking the reins as director from Shingo Natsume, who directed the 1st season animated by veteran anime studio Madhouse.
