Original Cast Announced for Upcoming "Fairy Tail: Dragon Fly" Film

The wait is over as details on characters and cast have been released this Wednesday on the official website of the upcoming “Fairy Tail” film “Dragon Fly.” With the story of the film revealed to be focused on the theft of a magical artefact named by the title with the ability to destroy the world and then being brought to the kingdom of Stella, the newly revealed characters are said to be from the stated kingdom.

The first out of the three characters revealed for the film, is the King of the Stella Kingdom, Animus. Set to play as this character is the voice behind characters Saitama in “One Punch Man” and Kazehaya Kamito in “Blade Dance of the Elementalers.”

Playing as the second character, Sonya, magician and aid to King Animus, is Aoi Yuuki, recognized for her work as the characters Diane in “The Seven Deadly Sins” and Meme Tatane in “Soul Eater Not!”

Last but not least, Jiro Saito, the voice behind characters Fuyuo Kawaguchi in “Desert Punk” and Gail Whitale in “Sky Wizards Academy” will be playing as the minister of state of Stella Kingdom, Zash Caine.

As for the main cast of the series, the voice actors will be reprising their roles for the films. Acting as director of the film is episode director Tatsuma Minami. Working on the script is Shoji Yonemura, recognized for having written the script of the series. Along with the staff is manga author Hiro Mashima, acting as executive producer and creating nearly 200 worth of pages of storyboards for the feature.

In addition to the revelation of the three characters for the film however, it has been reported that with the purchase of advance tickets for the film, fans have a chance of receiving a clear files with special illustrations of Natsu by the author himself. These tickets with the clear files can only be bought in specific places including select theaters, Animate stores, and 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan.
