Over the past few years up to this point, millions of viewers hastily looked for new ways to entertain themselves.
Two new cast members were revealed Tuesday for the second season of Fire Force (En En no Shouboutai). They are:
· Yuuki Ono as Takagi Oze
· Kousuke Toriumi as Hajiki
A new main visual was also revealed for the ongoing season 2. Check it out below!
The newest season premiered in Japan last July 3, with Toonami airing it starting October 24. The opening theme song, “SPARK AGAIN” issung by popular solo singer Aimer. The ending theme song is performed by rock band Cider Girl.
The new season is directed by Tatsumi Minakawa, replacing season 1 director Yuki Yase. Minakawa directed Fire Force’s episode 12 and is supervising the scripts for season 2 as well. Other returning staff members are Yumenosuke Tokuda as chief animation director and Hideyuki Morioka as character designer.
All of the main cast returned for the second season.
Fire Force (En En no Shouboutai) has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine since its debut in 2015. David Production adapted the manga into anime and premiered it last July 2019. Anime News Network describes its story as such:
“Terror has paralyzed the clockwork metropolis of Tokyo! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment’s notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. The team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous “devil’s footprints” (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?”
Besides Fire Force, Atsushi Ohkubo is also credited as the creator of manga series Soul Eater, which ran from 2004 to 2013 and was also adapted into a TV anime series in 2008. Ohkubo has recently stated that Fire Force is nearing its conclusion and that the manga series will be his last work.
