If you missed out on watching the historic Love Live! Fest event last January (which brought back the OG Love Live! group μ’s), now’s your chance to own it on Blu-ray! The Blu-ray set, called “Love Live! Series 9th Anniversary Love Live! Fest Blu-ray Memorial BOX will be released on September 9, 2020, and to get fans hyped for the release the franchise has revealed a 27-minute video digest of the concert. You can watch it here.

The Blu-ray set will retail for 16,000 yen (about USD 147) and will include both days of the concert, held to a 37,000-strong audience at Saitama Super Arena. There are a total of 28 song performances for the 1st day (January 18) and 29 songs for the second day (January 19).

The Love Live! Fest concert at the Saitama Super Arena celebrated the franchise’s nine successful years in the business. The event brought together all three generations of the popular idol franchise. First generation group μ’s (much to the excitement of OG Love Live! fans) shared the stage with other groups from the franchise: Love Live! Sunshine!!’s Aqours and Saint Snow, and smartphone game Love Live! School Idol Festival’s Nijigasaki Academy’s Idol Appreciation Club.

Love Live! is a multimedia project co-developed by ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G’s Magazine, music label Lantis, and animation studio Sunrise. The project has encompassed several media including anime, manga, live concerts, and smartphone games. It was launched in 2010 with μ‘s as its faces. The project was adapted into an anime series in 2013, with a second season following in 2014. The project and the group μ’s proved to be a massive commercial success, topping CD sales in Japan and selling out concerts in venues as big as Tokyo Dome.

The next generation, Love Live! Sunshine!!, featured idol group Aqours who, like their predecessors, wanted to save their school from closing. Sunshine!! has released numerous singles and CDs, a two-season anime, as well as a movie, Love Live! Sunshine! School Idol Movie: Over the Rainbow, whose domestic ticket sales crossed the 1 billion yen mark. The movie was also shown in other countries, the United States included.

The newest group in the franchise, the Nijigasaki Academy’s Idol Appreciation Club, were earlier announced to be receiving their own anime series as well.
