Over the past few years up to this point, millions of viewers hastily looked for new ways to entertain themselves.
More news for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Korean manhwa God of High School: Crunchyroll has revealed this Thursday the two artists who will perform the OP and ED theme songs of the upcoming anime series!
Japanese composer, record producer and DJ KSUKE will be performing the series’ opening theme song entitled “Contradiction feat. Tyler Carter”. The song is a brand-new track, composed just for the anime series.
The ending theme song, on the other hand, will be performed by five-piece KPop boyband CIX. The ED is entitled “WIN” and like the opening theme song is an original song for the anime series.
The main cast members are:
· Tatsumaru Tachibana (Toratarou Kobayashi in Case File no.221: Kabukicho) as Jin Mori
· Kentarou Kumagai (Haruhiko Takase in Tsuredure Children) as Han Daewi
· Akaya Ohashi (Mirai Asuka in Aikatsu Friends!) as Yoo Mira
Other previously-announced cast are:
· Daisuke Namikawa as Park Mujin
· Tomokazu Sugita as Gang Manseok
· Yuki Kaida as Commissioner O
· Asami Tano as Commissioner P
· Kenji Hamada as Commissioner Q
· Chikahiro Kobayashi as Commissioner R
· Tomokazu Seki as Announcer T
The series will be directed by Sunghoo Park (Garo – Vanishing Line -) for studio MAPPA. Kiyoko Yoshimura (Riddle Story of Devil) is in charge of series composition, with Manabu Akita (Kakegurui) handling character design. Music composition will be handled by Arisa Okehazama.
The God of High School is the second offering of Crunchyroll Originals, the first being Tower of God (which was also adapted from a manhwa). Crunchyroll describes the series as such:
“This action-packed series follows a high schooler and his friends as they compete in an epic tournament, borrowing power directly from the gods and uncovering a mysterious organization along the way… With the promise of their heart’s deepest desires, motivating their tournament victory.”
The anime series will premiere in Japan this July (no announced delays yet as of this writing), and will debut exclusively on Crunchyroll that same month.
The God of High School is a manhwa series written and illustrated by Yongje Park. It was first serialized in Naver Webtoon on April 2011 and received official English translations from LINE Webtoon in 2014.
