3rd Promo Video for “Rent-a-Girlfriend” TV Anime Introduces Ruka Sarashina

A new promotional video was recently revealed for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Reiji Miyajima’s rom-com manga series Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-a-Girlfriend). This time, the PV introduces the “super assertive younger sister idol girlfriend” Ruka Sarashina. Check it out here!

The anime will premiere in July 2020. The lead cast members are:

·        Sora Amamiya (Aqua in KONOSUBA – God’s Blessing on this wonderful world!) as Chizuru Mizuhara

·        Aoi Yuki (Tanya Degurechaff in Saga of Tanya the Evil) as Mami Nanami

·        Nao Toyama (Chitoge Kirisaki in Nisekoi – False Love) as Ruka Sarashina

·        Rie Takahashi (Takagi-san in Karaka Jouzu no Takagi-san) as Sumi Sakrasawa

·        Shun Horie (Enta Jinnouchi in Sarazanmai) as Kazuya Kinoshita

Both Amamiya and Yuki are reprising their roles from an earlier-released promotional video that celebrated the release of the manga’s fifth volume in 2018.

The anime is directed by Kazuomi Koga (Rainy Cocoa, Welcome to Rainy Color) with Mitsutaka Hirota (The Prince of Tennis II, Anime-Gataris) supervising the scripts. Character design is done by Kanna Hirayama, and HYADAIN is in charge of composing the music. The anime series is produced by TMS Entertainment.

English-language publishing rights are held by Kodansha Comics, who will release the manga in English starting next year. The company describes the story as such:

“In Japan, the lonely have a new way out — online services that rent out dads, children, even girlfriends! When Kazuya’s true love dumps him, he’s just desperate enough to try it, and he’s shocked at how cute and sweet his rental girlfriend turns out to be. But she wants to keep their “relationship” a secret, and there’s a complication… she goes to his university… and their grandmothers are in the same home… and they live next door to each other?! And Kazuya finds out she’s not nearly as nice in “real life”…”

Kanojo, Okarishimasu was first launched by Reiji Miyajima in July 2017 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.
