Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Now Available on the PS Store!

Be still, my heart! Square Enix just dropped a surprise for all of us today as they announced this Monday that the demo to their much-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake is already available in PS Stores worldwide! The demo is available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese-language versions.

Check out their announcement video here!

The demo is about an hour long and covers the iconic Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission and the Guard Scorpion battle. This however, has already been spoiled in the past as a demo had already been leaked as early as last month.

Players who download the free demo before May 11, 2020 will get a free exclusive theme that will be available for download by April 10, 2020 i.e., Final Fantasy VII’s worldwide release date. The exclusive theme’s appearance has not been released, so we are all excited here!

The game was originally announced for a March 10 release, but in January Square Enix announced that the release will be delayed to April 10. An official statement from FFVII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that they have decided to delay its release “in order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve”.

Square Enix has revealed three editions available for the game upon release: the Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and 1st Class Editions. Editions. The Deluxe Edition contains an art book, a mini-soundtrack CD, and a DLC Materia for Cactuar. The Digital Deluxe Edition will contain a digital art book, a digital mini-soundtrack CD, and a DLC Materia for Carbuncle and Cactuar. The 1st Class Edition includes all the content from the Deluxe Edition, a DLC Materia for Carbuncle, as well as an updated Play Arts Kai figure of Cloud Strife astride his iconic Hardy Daytona motorcycle. Those who pre-order the game will receive a DLC Materia for Chocobo Chick. Digital pre-orders will also include a theme for the PS4 menu.
