Smartphone Game “Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS” Confirms Global Release, Reveals New Intro Videos

The official Youtube channel of anime idol franchise juggernaut Love Live! has just released not one nor two but four introduction videos for the upcoming smartphone game, Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS (LL SIFAS). The first three videos previews the in-game cards for idol groups μ‘s, Aqours, and Nijigaku (Nijigasaki High School Idol Club), as well as each card’s “idolized” (if we’re going to go by LLSIF lingo) look. The fourth video (which you can watch here), on the other hand, previews the actual gameplay. If you’re familiar with Love Live! School Idol Festival, LL SIFAS appears similar to the former, what with the rhythm game elements but with lesser buttons to press (will I finally get to FC a Master song…?) There is also the element of unlocking new stories to get to know the Love Live! girls better via original, fully-voiced in-game stories that will bring together the idols of μ’s, Aqours, and Nijigaku.

The game, a collaboration between KLab Games and Bushiroad, is set for a September 26 release in Japan. Fret not, international fans, as the franchise’s official Twitter account has also announced that the game will be getting a global release in four languages: English, Korean, Chinese, and Thai. There is no specified release date yet as of this writing.

Love Live! is a multimedia project co-developed by ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G’s Magazine, music label Lantis, and animation studio Sunrise. The project has encompassed several media including anime, manga, live concerts, and smartphone games. It was launched in 2010 with μ‘s as its faces. The project was adapted into an anime series in 2013, with a second season following in 2014. The project and the group μ’s proved to be a massive commercial success, topping CD sales in Japan and selling out concerts in venues as big as Tokyo Dome. μ’s success paved the way for the franchise’s next generation of idols, Aqours, and its latest generation, the Nijigisaki High School Idol Club, which was launched last year as part of the franchise’s Perfect Dream Project.
