More incoming yuri content for us who cannot understand Japanese! North American publisher Seven Seas has just announced on their website and social media accounts on Friday that they have gained the rights to Hiromi Takashima’s fluffy yuri series Kase-san and Yamada.
Kase-san and Yamada is the sequel to Takashima’s Kase-san and… series, which comprise of five volumes: Kase-san and Morning Glories, Kase-san and Bento, Kase-san and Shortcake, Kase-san and Apron, and Kase-san and Cherry Blossoms. While these five volumes are all about the young couple’s beginnings in high school, Kase-san and Yamada will deal with their relationship as university students. As fans of the series will now, the last installment of the series Kase-san and Cherry Blossoms ended with Yamada following her girlfriend Kase into a Tokyo university.
Seven Seas describes the story of Kase-san and Yamada as such:
”After the events of the first five Kase-san and… manga volumes, Kase-san and Yamada are now university students. Yamada’s working diligently in her horticulture program, while Kase-san is training hard at her university. There might be a long train ride between their schools and hectic new schedules to plan around, but they’ll always make time for each other!”
According to their website, the first volume will be released on February 11, 2020.
Kase-san and… was serialized in Shinshokan’s Hirari magazine from 2010 to 2017, with the English license for the series being handled by Seven Seas Entertainment. It tells the story of the timid, flower-loving Yui Yamada who falls for her senpai and the school’s track and field star, the boyish and exuberant Tomoka Kase. The manga’s first five volumes explore the gradual blossoming of their relationship, and eventually the challenges they face through high school and beyond. An original video animation (OVA) of Kase-san was released in Japanese theaters last year, with the license for home video release being handled by Sentai Filmworks.
