# Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Movie Releases New Key Visual The sequel film to the hit 2016 animé series has just released a new key visual! Titled <i>Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato</i>, its new visual has Mumei taking centerstage, along with other familiar faces. Check it out below: <img src="http://a.nime.me/0141/5179/kabaneri-of-the-iron-fortress-94.png"> Director Araki Tetsurou has previously confirmed that the movie will focus on the mysterious Kabaneri Mumei, who accompanied main character Ikoma in the animé series. He has also confirmed that <i>The Battle of Unato</i> will take place six months after the events in the TV series. A short teaser trailer for the movie was also released last year, which features Mumei reminiscing about her first meeting with Ikoma. The last part of the video also shows a brand new illustration of Mumei seemingly in tears as snow falls around her. The story is set in the industrial revolution, where a mysterious virus turns humans into <i>Kabane</i>, undead creatures that can only be killed if its iron-protected heart is pierced. Main character Ikoma, an engineer who invents anti-<i>Kabane</i> weapons, gets infected by the virus but manages to resist it. He then becomes a <i>Kabaneri</i>—a half-human, half-<i>Kabane</i>—and together with mysterious fellow <i>Kabaneri</i>Mumei, he journeys to seek shelter elsewhere. <i>Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato</i> movie is set for a spring 2019 release.
