Video game developer Square Enix is set to release a new smartphone game called Last Idea. The game was announced in a rather informal fashion, with the company simply tweeting the following last February 20:
The Twitter account announced nothing more, leaving gaming forums rather perplexed with the informal reveal. On February 22, however, the account retweeted a series of online articles pertaining to the official reveal of the game, along with some details. According to press releases, Last Idea is a treasure-hunting RPG that will be launched on mobile devices this April 2019. The story is described as follows:
“The protagonist, a novice treasure hunter, heads by airship to the abandoned “Silent Castle” located on an isolated island in order to confirm signs of treasure sensed by diviner friend Rah Mel.
Upon arriving, the earth suddenly begins to shake and darkness spouts from the ground, instantly covering the sky, and hordes of monsters begin to attack Silent Castle.
The party tried to give up on the treasure and turn back, but upon seeing a girl about to be attacked by monsters on the castle’s balcony, they run to her rescue…”
Square Enix has also released a short teaser video for the game, which you can check out below:
Square Enix has also announced the voice cast for the game, which includes well-known seiyuus like Rie Kugimiya (Taiga Aisaka from Toradora!), Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass), and Minami Takayama (Conan Edogawa from Detective Conan), among others.
