New game installation is announced for “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures” by Bandai Namco, and it is a new competitive arcade game with a battle royale-style for up to 20 players.
Featuring characters from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” Parts 3 to 5, the game is described as a “battle royale with network versus supporting up to 20 players.” Also featuring flashy Stand battles, the aim of the game is for players to use Stand abilities to take out other players scattered about in the city.
With different characters, there are different Stand abilities and for those who can stay alive until the very end win, they win as the “Last Survivor.”
The game will be released in Summer 2019 in Japan. Prior to this, there will be a location test to be held next month.
“Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures” is an adventure supernatural series that had its start as a manga series written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. First launching in 1987 under the serialization of Weekly Shōnen Jump, the series ran until 2004 being transferred to the monthly seinen magazine Ultra Jump in 2005. So far the series has released 123 volumes.
In regards to game adaptations, the first game adaptation of the series was a role-playing video game, based on the third story arc, which was released in 1993 for the Super Famicom. The first arcade game of the franchise was a fighting game which also based on the third story arc and was released in 1998 by Capcom. The last game to be released for the franchise was the 3D action video game titled “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records” for the iOS and Android. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and released in Japan in February 2017.
The game was based on the “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” anime series and had quests which related to the series’ story. It encompassed the first five parts of the series’ story: “Phantom Blood”, “Battle Tendency”, “Stardust Crusaders”, “Diamond Is Unbreakable”, and “Golden Wind.” In terms of gameplay, the player would set up teams of characters from these parts, who have varying sets of moves they can perform which were based on Hamon techniques and Stand abilities.
