Tamagotchi branches into the world of “Pokemon” as it announces that coming next year, it will be having an installation staring Eevee and their different evolutions.
Called as the “Eevee Tamagotchi” this will be the first official Pokémon Tamagotchi ever and it is set to release on January 26, 2019. So far, it has been confirmed that there will be eight different evolutions available for the Pokemon. They include Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. However, it has been recently teased that there may be three additional forms to join the group.
Set to be released on January 26, 2019, this will be the first-ever “Pokemon” Tamagotchi and the ones that will be available are two different hard case designs and priced at 2,300 yen (US$20) each.
Eevee is an evolution monster that has been gaining much attention for the past year. From having their own parade at the Pikachu Outbreak event to the “Pokemon Let’s Go: Eevee” game, more and more is seen of the Pokemon in the franchise.
Generally, the Pokemon is known as a Normal-type that was introduced in the Generation I games of the franchise. Depending on the type of stone they are given or friendship and affection they gain, the Pokemon is able to become one of eight evolutions. They have been recognized as a game mascot and is the main character of the “Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness” and “Pokémon Conquest” games.
With Tamagotchi, it is a handheld digital pet that made its debut on November 23, 1996, in Japan and May 1997 in the rest of the world. It was created in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai and became one of the biggest toy fads of the 1990s and early 2000s. It has been noted that prior to the brand’s collaboration with the Pokemon franchise, there was a similar product, although not part of the Tamagotchi brand, starring Pikachu that was released in 1998.
