Synopsis
Yulias is a strong-willed Earl’s daughter who likes making money and loathes the thought of losing any due to her spirit of enterprise. She is engaged to a noble who would benefit her household but she easily found out that not only is he seeing another girl, he wishes to annul the engagement. However, Yulias is one step ahead as she prepares everything for the annulment to not only be in her favor but also gain consolation money as well.
Thoughts on the Story and Characters
This is a rather clever twist to the whole idea of a supposed villainess noble girl being the protagonist of the story. For one thing, everything takes place within the world of the story. There is no reincarnation or summoning of any kind, it’s a nice change of pace, to say the least. There is still an element of a “heroine” following a story, but the “story” actually comes from a different and sensible source. The overall story of the first arc of the series has a strong flow and foundation to it.
Personally, it’s fun to see what kinds of antics and backlash characters like the fiancee and “heroine” get and have it as the comedy of the series. Other than this, the way that the series handled its romance is rather nice. It’s not too fast or too slow but there isn’t much to be expected it. With the second arc going on with the series, it feels like the pacing of the series is slowing down and heading towards a harem build up. If it is, it’s debatable on where the story will go from there.
Should you Read it?
It’s a clever series, that much is true. The first arc of the series with Yulias setting things up against her fiancee and the “heroine” not getting her way was a strong point for the series. The characters weren’t typical and there was a sensible explanation with the story being formed within the world it is set in. It’s a tad hard to see where the second arc of the series is going after such a strong story arc, but there is potential for further character and relationship development alongside world building.
