Synopsis
This is the tale of newcomer god named Toto. She has been assigned to the peaceful “Isle Island,” a mysterious land that floats in the sky.
The Good
The concept alone makes for a big highlight of the series. The way that it presents Toto being this higher being that communicates with the island people while also blending in world-building elements is rather relaxed but interesting. There’s a lot of potentials to be found with the world-building and the way that it gives a slow but peaceful pacing sets up a rather gentle tone for the series.
Character-wise, they are all rather cute in different ways. From Toto being a carefree girl Sakura being a tsundere, the lightheartedness of the characters is also another high point for the series and presents some sweet dynamics between them. On a smaller note, the poetic points of the series also give a nice touch.
Art-wise, as stated, there is a gentle tone to be found with the series and the way that the island and fantasy elements are presented, it seems something that would fit a fantasy storybook. It doesn’t necessarily stand out, but there is a quality to it that you can enjoy.
The Bad
If it weren’t for the concept, it would be a rather typical fantasy series with a slice of life. It has a carefree girl who is admired by many but is also rather airheaded, something that is seen in plenty of slice-of-life stories. And the way that it is developing so far, there isn’t much to be expected from the plot. Even the way that it presents magic isn’t all that unique unless you count the whole presentation portion of it.
Conclusion
It’s a slice of life fantasy series with a unique concept and cute characters. While there isn’t much to be expected in terms of plot, there is a cute quality to the series and has a relaxing pace to it. There is potential in terms of presentation and worldbuilding but not much other than the two. It’s basically the type of series you would look for if you wanted something, cute, simple but with an element of fantasy.
