Synopsis
High school student Tomari Hinowa was just a normal kid. That is until he is told one day that he is to become the wife of a mysterious creature called Kanenogi. Thus begins Tomari’s new life as a married student while trying to learn more about his mysterious partner.
The Good
The first thing that popped out with the series was the concept. For one thing, it reveals just enough for the viewer to be hooked in while also presenting a potential to be rather cute in terms of its character dynamics. For another, it’s a highly unique point that makes the series stand out. Another draw for the anime is its art style. The simplicity of the designs really helps in bringing out the characters and their stories. And what’s more, it’s style is plain adorable and has the mysterious beings looking like they fit right in. So far, the series has only revealed a slight explanation of things in the third episode but it still presents a lot of potential for the series.
The Bad
The thing with the series is that it is a rather short series with only 3 minutes per episode. Because it is so short, the episode seems to run by so fast that before you can fully process what happened, the episode has already ended. And it’s not just because of the time that it turns out that way. The general format of the story and episode doesn’t help things. Though it does establish some good points with the latest episodes, it doesn’t change that the series seems to rush things with its plot and doesn’t seem to have a flow to it. However, other than the pacing and flow of the story, not much else can be said against the series.
Conclusion
It’s a cute little series with a unique concept, a simple but fitting style and so far has a story with potential. The only real thing that can be said against the series is that it could work on its pacing and flow given how short it is. Other than this, it’s a series that may not appeal to everyone but is worth checking at least one episode or two given the uniqueness of the concept.
