The upcoming “Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue”/“My housemate is on my knee, sometimes on my head” anime is making a call for both cat lovers and fans of the series alike. As part of a promotion for the series, a search for cats pictures is announced.
Chosen photos from the promotion will be used as the end-title cards when the series broadcast in January of 2019. Participants can submit their photos on a special website along with their contact information. This is so winners may be notified when their photos have been chosen.
The promotion will run from October 12 – November 22, 2018, and in addition to having their photos featured in the end-title cards, the photos will also be on Twitter and on the official series website for promotional purposes.
“Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue” is based on the written by Minatsuki, illustrated by As Futasuya. Producing the anime is studio Zero-G and directing the upcoming series is Kaoru Suzuki, the director behind the “Pupipō!” series. Deko Akao, who worked on the “Snow White with the Red Hair” series will be taking charge of the series composition. Taking on the character designs is Masaru Kitao, an artist known for having designed the characters for the “Death Note” anime. As for the music, it will be composed by Kotoringo.

The story of “Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue” tells of a recluse novelist named Subaru Mikazuki. One day he comes across a stray cat and decides he has found his new inspiration. As such he adopts the cat, and thus begins the new cohabitation between Haru and Subaru. Like with the manga, each episode of the anime will have both a “Subaru” and “Haru” chapter that will tackle the story from the point of view of both characters.
The “Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue” manga was first released in June 2015 on the Flex Comix’s Comic Polaris website. Currently, there are four volumes released.
