A Condition is Set for the Dropkick on My Devil! 2nd Season Green Light

A second season may be in the works for the “Jashin-chan Dropkick” a.k.a. “Dropkick on My Devil!” anime. Announced via the series’ official Twitter, it was stated that the second season would be greenlit should more than 2,000 units of the first season’s DVD/Blu-ray box sets be sold before the “Sugoi Sabbath” event.

Said event was announced alongside the possible second season for the anime. It will be held in two parts with the first being titled “Angel’s Part” (14:45) and “Devil’s Part” (18:15). As for the venue of the event, it will be detailed at a later date.

With the first season’s DVD/Blu-ray box sets, there are two sets. The first contains the first to sixth episodes and will be released on October 29, 2018. The second box contains the seventh to unaired 12th episodes and is set for November 26. As of October 13, there are pre-orders received for 813 units. Should the goal be met by January 20, the anime’s executive producer Koichiro Natsume will officially give a green light for the second season on the stage.

“Jashin-chan Dropkick” first premiered on July 10 and ran until September 17 with a total of 12 episodes. Produced by Studio Nomad, the series was directed by Hikaru Sato, an episode director of the “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma” series. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, a writer known to have worked on the “NANA” script, took charge of the series composition and worked on the script along with Momoko Murakami. As for the character designs, Makoto Koga, an animation director of “Bleach” took on the task.

The story of the series tells of a devil named Jashin-chan ending up summoned by a stoic college student named Yurine Hanazono. From the summoning, the two end up bound together and now they must live as roommates in Yune’s run-down apartment in Jinbocho.
