More is shown for the upcoming “Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue”/"My housemate is on my knee, sometimes on my head” anime as a set of new teaser trailers are revealed along with its main cast.
Based on the heart-warming manga written by Minatsuki and illustrated by As Futasuya the anime adaptation is set to be released in 2019. The newly revealed cast for the series consists of two members to play as the main characters of the series.
Playing as the recluse mystery author Subaru Mikazuki is Kenshō Ono. Ono is a voice actor who is known for a variety of roles given his career having started in 1990, but his best-known role is in “Kuroko’s Basketball” as the “phantom” sixth man of the “Generation of Miracles”, Kuroko Tetsuya.
As for the role of the former street cat Haru, voice actress Haruka Yamazaki will be taking it on. More than being a voice actress, Yamazaki is also known as a singer and has performed the second ending theme song of the “Absolute Duo.” In terms of voice acting, she has voiced both Ruka Suirenji and Aika Kiryu in "Hayate the Combat Butler! Cuties” and “High School DxD BorN” respectively.
With the trailers released, as the series switches between Subaru and Haru’s perspective, the set features these.
Directing the series is Kaoru Suzuki who has majorly worked as an episode director of different series including “Hellsing” and “Chobits.” Acting as the series composer is Deko Akao, a writer known for having worked on “Snow White with the Red Hair” and “After the Rain.” Masaru Kitao, an artist who has worked on “Cardcaptor: The Movie” and “Death Note” as a chief animation director and key animator respectively will be acting as the character designer for the series. The series itself will be produced by Zero-G, a studio that has recently produced “The Grand Blue” series.
“Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue,” tells the tale of a reclusive author named Subaru Mikazuki. One day while thinking of a new story, he finds a stray cat and has decided he found his new inspiration and thus adopts them.
The manga which the upcoming series is based on was released in June 2015 and serialized in Flex Comix’s Comic Polaris digital manga magazine. There are currently around four volumes released.
