The Royal Tutor Returns with a Film Coming February 2019

“The Royal Tutor” anime returns next year as the series’ official Twitter reveals an all-new feature film under works following its countdown. Along with the film’s reveal, an official website for the project was opened and a key visual, 60-second teaser trailer and visuals of the two new characters have been released.

The film will be featuring a sequel tale to the 12-episode series and introduce two new characters. These two are Ivan and Eugene Alexandrovich, the first and second prince of the Romano Kingdom. Though it is not confirmed who will be voicing the new characters, it is confirmed who will be working on the production.

Returning to direct the film is Katsuya Kikuchi who majorly worked in key animation. Along with him is series composer Kimiko Ueno and character designer and chief animator Rena Okuyama. The other staff members to work on the film are Hozomi Gouda for the sound direction and Keiji Inai for the music composition.

As for the anime production, it will be taken on by Tear Studio in place of the TV series’ Bridge. The film will be making its debut on February 16, 2019, and shown in 21 theaters in Japan.

The story of the film follows the four princes of the Glanzreich Kingdom as they face the challenges that come with wanting to become king under the guidance of the royal tutor Heine Wittgenstein. One day, they are suddenly faced with the twin princes of the Romano Kingdom. While the two may appear cute and innocent, they are far from it. In fact, the twins are quite sadistic in nature. It seems that the only way to deal for Heine and the four princes is to give them an “education guidance” to them.

With there cast, the following are making their return:

Heine Wittgenstein: Keisuke Ueda
Kai von Glanzreich: Yuya Asato
Bruno von Glanzreich: Yuuto Adachi
Leonhard von Glanzreich: Daisuke Hirose
Licht von Glanzreich: Shouta Aoi

On another note, a video message from the cast was also released.

“The Royal Tutor” first began as a manga by Higasa Akai and serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine starting November 2013. The manga is currently running and has around eight volumes released. The anime adaptation of the series made its debut in April 2017 and run until June 2017.
