New ‘Hunter X Hunter’ Smartphone Game Announced!

While the updates of the Hunter X manga seems irregular, it will be getting a smartphone game titled Hunter X Hunter Greed Adventure. This was announced in the this year’s 40th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday.

Hunter X Hunter Greed Adventure will be a free to play 3D action role-playing game and will be launched this winter. The game will be developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and players have the option to do in-game purchases. The anime of staff of Hunter X Hunter will be helping out on the game, specifically on the original characters, setting, and worldview.

Pre-registration is now available. The battle feature is touch based and players can someone different characters from the franchise as well as using skill cards.

The game will features a new story which includse content from the original manga. It will take place in a new “Greed Island 2”, this is after the manga’s “Greed Island” arc when Gon and his friends have cleared Greed Island and after the change of the main leadership at the Hunter Association. This new island was rebuilt from its original island to train Hunters.

Hunter X Hunter Greed Adventure will have an original character named Sofika, a mysterious girl who is somewhat related to the Game Master and G.I. 2. She joins in Gon and Killua on their journey. This new character will be voiced by Sora Tokui.
