Over the past few years up to this point, millions of viewers hastily looked for new ways to entertain themselves.
It was announced on Monday that the Chinese game streaming platform WeGame suspended its distribution and selling of CAPCOM’s popular RPG multiplayer RPG hit, Monster Hunter World. The reason for this suspension was due to an order by the Chinese government saying that the game did not comply to regulations unspecified.
China had a new media regulator as of March. With new regulations being implemented, this has also caused some games to have not been given approval. Tencent, the company that owns WeGame will be offering refund vouchers until August 20 with no announcements if the game will be distributed again.
The Monster Hunter franchise began in 2004. More than 46 million copies of the games were sold from its first game until the recent.
Monster Hunter: World officially released worldwide on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 26. In its first three days, around 5 million copies have been shipped worldwide which officially sets a new record for the franchise.
Unlike the previous games, Monster Hunter: World is an open world game which features a “living ecosystem” which allow players to destroy and use elements of their environment to their advantage as well as the use of monster behaviors against other monsters.
