Anime ‘Sword Art Online: Alicization’ to have 1-Hour World Premiere in 7 Countries

Kirito is back in the new upcoming anime series of the Sword Art Online franchise titled Sword Art Online: Alicization! The series will cover the original novel’s “Alicization Arc” which is from volumes 9 to 18.

In an announcement on Friday on its official website, it is also confirmed that there will a world premiere events in the following countries: Russia, France, Germany, United States, Austrailia, Japan, and South Korea. The anime’s first episode will be a one-hour special. The anime will premiere in Japan in October.

So far only the Japanese premiere event was announced which will be on September 15 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. This special event will have special guests Haruka Tomatsu, Yoshitugu Matsuoka, and Ai Kayano.

In an interview, the anime’s director Manabu Ono accepted the job as director during the time of the preview screenings of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film and they were already in talks with the Aniplex staff since the time the franchise will be adapting the whole original novel series into anime.

This new anime will again have Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu as Kirito and Asuna respectively. Joining them is Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eugeo and Ai Kayano as Alice.
