We are just a couple of days away and the highly anticipated anime movie My Hero Academia: Two Heroes will premiere in movie theaters in Japan.
A new video was uploaded on Friday by TOHO which is a collaboration with amazarashi’s Hiromu Akita and Masaki Suda. Suda performed the theme song “Long Hope Phiilia” which was written and composed by Akita. This version of the same song is the current ending theme for the third season of the My Hero Academia anime.
My Hero Academia’s original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi said in a Twitter post that upon watching the Iida action scenes in the video, he was overcome with emotions “for some reason”.
Previously, TOHO released two commercials for the film last Friday. The respectively come in two versions: Battle Version and Overseas Version.
The first My Hero Academia film takes place after the Final Exam Arc during the “Forest Training Training Arc” set on “I Island”, a floating manmade movable city. It will be revealing a certain character’s unrevealed past as well as featuring the characters of Class A.
Original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi will be chief supervisor of the film. He is also credited for the original story and character designs. The director of the anime at BONES Kenji Nagasaki will be also be directing the film along with some returning staff like composer Yuuki Hayashi, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda. TOHO will be officially distributing the film.
The film is slated to be released in Japan on August 3! It was announced previously that Funimation will be screening the film in over 400 theaters in the United States and Canada on September 25, 26, 27, 29 and October 2. September 25, 27, and 29 screening will be in Japanese with English subtitles, while the September 26 and October 2 screenings will be English-dubbed.
