It has been confirmed that “R: B Blaze”, the first film in GoRA and GoHands’ six-part K: Seven Stories theatrical anime project will be having a manga adaptation. Revealed in the August issue of Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge, it has not been specified whether the manga will be a one-shot or a serialization.
What has been confirmed is that the manga will be titled “Aiseki” and Yasuyuki Torikai is drawing the manga. In addition to this, Kodansha will publish the manga in the magazine’s September issue.
The film made its debut on July 7 and the rest of the films will premiere in different months. The six-part project has been licensed by Viz Media and will be produced by studio GoHands. For the first film, it will be having Shingo Suzuki returning as director. GoRA, the creator of the franchise, will be writing and overseeing the series scripts. As for the music composition, Mikio Endo will be making their return.
With the opening and ending theme songs for the films, music group angela are performing all six ending theme songs with a different song for each part. A note for the ending theme songs is that they are named after each part’s subtitle. As for the opening theme song, it will be performed by the same group, be performed in all parts and is titled “SURVIVE!”
The rest of the films are scheduled as follows:
SIDE: BLUE Tenrō no Gotoku opens on August 4
SIDE: GREEN Uwagaki Sekai opens on September 1
Lost Small World Ori no Mukō ni (To the Other Side of the Cage) opens on October 6
Memory of Red ~BURN opens on November 3
Circle Vision Nameless Song opens on December 1
On another note, each episode will have “The Idol K” anime short screened alongside it.
In terms of manga, the “K” franchise has “K: Memory of Red.” Other than this, there are three novels titled “K SIDE: BLUE”, “K:SIDE: GREEN”, and “K: R: B.” Then there is “K: Lost Small World” which is both a novel and manga. The franchise also had a parody book that reimagines if the characters in the franchise were all idols and are titled “Idol K”
