‘Detective Conan’ Manga Goes on Hiatus Again for Seven Weeks

It was revealed on Wednesday in this year’s 32nd issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday that the Detective Conan manga series will go on hiatus for seven weeks. The reason for this is because the manga’s author Gosho Aoyama will be will be conducting more research for the series.

Fans of the popular detective manga series don’t need to worry because the spin-off manga titled Metantei Conan Zero no Tea Time (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time) by Takahiro Arai will be running through the hiatus weeks. It was noted that the magazine will publish the spin-off manga when the original series goes on hiatus and will not publish the chapters of the manga otherwise.

This isn’t the first time that the Detective Conan manga series went on hiatus. It went on an extended hiatus last December for the reason that Aoyama had to receive medical treatment and “recharge”. The series then returned to the publication on April 11. Another hiatus also happened before this on November 29 for the reason that the author had to do some research.

The Detective Conan series centers the many detective adventures of Shinichi Kudo alias Conan Edogawa whose body got shrunk after being taken a drug by criminals.
