Synopsis
Following an airplane crash, 7 high school students find themselves waking up in a fantasy world complete with dragons and beast people. Though they do not know how they ended up in this situation, they are by no means helpless. In fact, each of these students stands at the top in politics, economics, science, and medicine with superhuman abilities. Together, they bring a great change to this fantasy world.
The Good
It’s not often that an isekai features more than one hero. Usually, when a group of people is summoned into another world, the story takes focus on that one “special” hero that’s meant to stand out from the rest. Here, it’s nice to see that each of the summoned characters is given their moment to shine and are given distinct roles in the plot. Basically, the fact that ti strayed away from the usual formula and handled different characters is a highlight of the series.
Another highlight of the series is how it handles its plot development. Given the generic points that come with an adventure isekai that involves either politics or economy or both, the series gave some different points than the usual. Mainly in how the plot manages to slip in one or two surprises and in how the characters handle things.
The Bad
While the series takes a different take with its characters and the plot development, it’s largely general in many ways. First, there are the villains. It feels like with the majority of isekai adventure stories, they have to go with the evil nobles trope. Really, a little more mystery and cleverness from the villains would be nice. Then there is the whole complication in relationships with the characters. It was obvious from the very start what type of pairings were going to happen but it just feels like the series is overcomplicating things.
Conclusion
It’s interesting to read an isekai story that takes focus on more than one hero and gives a solid establishment to the plot and characters. The way that the story goes to explore different aspects and connects it to characters and their skills are what makes the story work so well. The problem with the series is that it takes the familiar route that most isekai adventure stories take with evil nobles and struggling lower classes. The only saving grace it has is that the series doesn’t stretch things out and we actually see some solid action from all the heroes.
