An opening video the Clannad game was uploaded on Thursday by game company Prototype confirming that the game will be digitally released of the U.S. region today. In a latest report by Anime News Network, it has not been listed yet in the U.S. PlayStation Store.
Although U.S. will only the have digital version release, Japan released the game in physical version on June 14 with an English text option. Distributions to other regions like Europe are also in the works.
The Clanned visual novel was released for the PC via Steam in 2015 by Sekai Project. This was made possible to due to a successful Kickstarter campaign. They also released Clannad: Side Stories also for the same platform in 2016. The popularity of the game expanded into two anime series and one anime film.
The franchise follows Tomoya Okazaki, a delinquent high school student who meets the strange girl named Nagisa Furukawa who is a year older than him but had to repeat her last year of high school due to her illness. He becomes involved with the girl who hopes that she will restart the school’s drama club.
