The “Batman Ninja” film is making its way to print as the official website for Monthly Hero’s magazine reveals a manga adaptation by Masato Hisa for the film. Revealed via a cover image for the upcoming July issue, the magazine was shipped to Japan on Friday.
Debuting on April 24, the film was initially revealed via a poster released in October 2017. Following its digital format debut, the physical format was released on May 8 and will be having a theatrical release in Japan on June 15.
The director of the film is Kamikaze Douga CEO/founder Junpei Mizusaki. He is also known to have worked as the opening animation producer for “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures” and worked with the Warner Bros. studio for the film. Kazuki Nakashima, who is known to have worked on the “Kill la Kill” series, acted as the writer of the film.
As for the character designs, it was “Afro Samurai’s” creator, Takashi Okazaki who took on the role. With the music, Yuugo Kanno, the composer behind “Psycho-Pass” worked on the composition for the film. Also included in the production of the project were “Afro Samurai’s” executive producers Leo Chu and Eric Garcia working as the English-language screenwriters and studio Kamikaze Douga.
“Batman Ninja” begins with Batman’s worst enemies, along with Batman and a few allies being transported to feudal Japan by Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine. Now the villains have taken over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions.
With his high-tech weaponry exhausted almost immediately, Batman must now rely on his intellect and allies. Together with Catwoman and the extended Bat-family, they must restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.
The cast who played in the film included:
Kouichi Yamadera as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Yuuki Kaji as Robin
Daisuke Ono as Nightwing
Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin
Akira Ishida as Red Hood
Houchu Ohtsuka as Alfred Pennyworth
Ai Kakuma as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Wataru Takagi as Joker
Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn
Takehito Koyasu as Gorilla Grodd
On another note, a preview of the manga was published in the July issue. It will be in the magazine’s August issue on June 30 that the first chapter of the manga will be released.
