Latest ‘Detective Conan’ Movie Conquers the Japanese Box Office at #1!

The 22nd film of the Detective Conan franchise titled Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkōnin (Detective Conan: Zero’s Executioner) opened last Friday on 384 theaters in Japan and has officially conquering the box office ranking at #1. It sold a total of 1,012,000 tickets in its Saturday and Sunday screenings earning the movie 1.296 billion yen.

Its over-all earnings for its first three days of screening is now at 1.67 billion yen. It had 100.7% surpassed the Saturday and Sunday ticket sales of its previous movie titled Meitantei Conan Kara Kurenai no Love Letter.

Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkōnin (Detective Conan: Zero’s Executioner) is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and it will be a sequel to the franchise’s 20th film Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare where the story is centered on Toku “Zero” Amuro. Hyoe Kuroda made his first appearance in the upcoming film as he is rumored to be Rum in the Black Organization.

The Detective Conan series centers the many detective adventures of Shinichi Kudo alias Conan Edogawa whose body got shrunk after being taken a drug by criminals.
