Cast and staff details have been confirmed along with the release of a new visual for the upcoming anime series, “Tsukumogami Kashimasu”/”Tsukumogami For Rent.”
The series is set to premiere in July and is slotted for Sundays at 24:10 (effectively Mondays at 12:10 a.m.) on NHK General TV. Directing the work is “Corpse Princess: Aka’s” Masahiko Murata. He will be working at Telecom Animation with Kento Shimoyama, who worked on the “Bleach” series as the series composer. Working on the character designs for the series are Miho Yano and Hiromi Yoshinuma, both having previously worked as key animators.

Set during the Edo period and in the Fukagawa ward of old Edo, the story tells of older sister Okou and younger brother Seiji. Due to the are being prone to fire and flooding, residents rent everyday items like pots, futons, and clothing from shops instead of purchasing them out of convenience and the siblings run such rental shop.
There is one thing different with their shop however and it is that mixed within their inventory are objects that have turned into spirits after a hundred years of existence called “tsukumogami.” Both siblings are able to see these spirits and have gained a reputation because of this, which resulted in other tsukumogami visiting them.
Playing the role of older sibling Okou is Mikako Komatsu, who plays the role of Lupusregina Beta in “Overlord.” Junya Enoki, the voice behind Hansei in “OZMAFIA!!” will be taking on the voice of younger brother Seiji. Another cast/character in the series is Takahiro Midorikawa, the voice of Arataka Reigen from “Mob Psycho 100” to play as Satarou.
“Tsukumogami Kashimasu” first published in 2007 as a Japanese novel written by Megumi Hatakenaka. Published under Kadokawa Shoten, the series later gained a sequel titled “Tsukumogami, Asobō yo” a.k.a. “Tsukumogami, Let’s Play" in 2013. It was in October of last year that the anime was first announced and now the anime is up for production.
