Synopsis
This is the story of a man who stews in his past and inadvertently saves a young girl who gets attached to him.
The Good
The concept is rather interesting and one of the main highlights of the work is the build-up of the male lead. Hato may seem like the regular broody character on the surface, but the way that the story works his portrayal makes for a good deal of mystery for him. What’s more, with the way that the dynamic between him and the little girl is introduced, there’s a good amount of comedy and clear bonding set to happen between them.
The same point goes to the little girl. While she does hold the qualities of the daughter of a rich family, but she too has some depth to her and a touch of mystery as well. Overall the two characters have a steady build to them and overall it has some solid potential going for it.
The Bad
While Hato does hold an interesting portrayal to him, it doesn’t change the fact that he’ll end up as the male character getting over his dark past trope. And while it’s nice that the little girl got a solid portrayal and story introduced for her, it doesn’t change she’s going to be the kid character trope who is meant to bring the humor and the heart warming moments for the series. Basically, the characters are pretty much bait for the rest of the story.
It’s not necessarily bad but the whole plot flow just seems to have been done before. From the whole mysterious intro to the little girl declaring her bond with Hato, it just seems that while it looks different, the whole plot and character concept has been done before. Really the negative points for this work is just on the fence for this writer.
Conclusion
The best that can be said for the work for now is that there is a decent amount of potential to be found with the work. The characters have a solid introduction to them and clear bonding moments are to come, but the overall concept of the work has been done before, the only difference with this work is the setting and the framework of the story. Honestly the best way to summarize the impression for this work is on the fence.
