Coming next week is the launched of “Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s 1.3.0” and while it is known that it will be fixing a specific Driver and blades issue found with 1.2.0, there are also new details revealed for the upcoming work including a new game plus mode called Advanced New Game Mode.
With the Advanced New Game Mode file, there are certain elements that do and do not carry over to it and can be started after finishing the game and saving after the ending. For the elements that can carry over, there is the player’s Awakened Blades, acquired gold and items, Driver levels, Blade and Driver equipment and growth, Mercenaries level, town development levels, unique monster kills and event theaters.
As for what can’t carry over, it includes the player’s Mercenary Missions, Skip Travel waypoints, Heart-to-Heart segments and quests.
Other details for the mode are noted as spoilers, but for those who wish to know, they are as follows:
There are new blades including Akhos, Cressidus, Mikhail, Obrona, Patroka, Perdido and Sever; all blades including ones like Pyra and Mythra, can be dispatched on Mercenary missions. With the newly introduced blades, players can find them appearing in any Core Crystal, including common one. For a notable Blade, its level 4 special has been unlocked. Should players want to lower a Driver’s level to earn bonus experience, they can trade for special items at a Troubadour upon entering an inn. Lastly, there is a Reverse Affinity Chart to be in the mode.
Now with non-spoiler elements there is new features that will be found in the standard game. Players will be able to skip the blade awakening cutscenes and lock awakened blades, to keep it from releasing. Sporting options have been made more specific towards equipment and Blades and mini-map will have icons from the Skip Travel screen. Lastly, players will be able to switch to an easy difficulty level in the options.
“Xenoblade Chronicles”, which was first released in 2010, is an action role-playing game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Wii. It features navigation through an open world split into zones, side-quests tied to party members’ affinity, and a real-time action-based battle system which incorporates the main character’s ability to see glimpses of the future.
