“Shingeki no Kyoujin” a.k.a. “Attack on Titan” was first released as a manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. Serialized since September 2009 by Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, the series currently has 24 volumes as of December 2017 and is still running. The anime adaptation of the series later came in April 2013 following a light novel, spin-off novel and spin-off manga works. It ran for a total of 25 episodes before ending in September 2013.
The second season of the anime was released from April to June 2017 and had 12 episodes. Other than the anime series, the franchise has also developed four video games, a two-part live-action film, an anime film, a live-action web series, an anime adaptation of the manga spin-off, and OVAs.
The staff for the anime series has Tetsuro Araki, a director known for his work with directing work in the supernatural series “Death Note” as the director and Yasuko Kobayashi, the series composer of shounen series “Jojo’s Bizarre Circus” as the series composer for the series.
The story of the franchise tells of a world where monstrous beings known as Titans exist and devour humans. It initially begins with the story of Eren Yeager and his childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. Together they join the military to fight against the Titans who have invaded their hometown and taken away their loved ones. But the deeper the fight against the beings go, the more truth there is revealed.
