For this week, there are four more characters are introduced for Dissidia “Final Fantasy NT”, the PlayStation 4 version of the “Dissidia Final Fantasy” arcade game. Each character is revealed with character videos that are being streamed by Square Enix.
Each character is from different “Final Fantasy” games and for each video it features a cut scene and gameplay footage. The characters for the week are Vaan from “final fantasy XII”, Lightning from “Final Fantasy XIII”, Y’shtola from “Final Fantasy XIV” and Noctis from “Final Fantasy XV.”
Vaan is known as the protagonist of his game and is described to be a orphan street thief hailing from Rabanastre in the Kingdom of Dalmasca who dreams of owning an airship and being a sky pirate free to travel Ivalice. He is also known to begrudge the Archadian Empire for the death of his brother, Reks, and the subjugation of his homeland.
Lightning has taken on three roles for the three variations of her game (being “Final Fantasy XIII”, “Final Fantasy XIII-2”, and “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII”). She begins as a female protagonist who in her path in saving her younger sister Sarah, becomes entangled in a plot that endangers her home of Cocoon. Then she ends up becoming a knight who serves to protect the goddess Etro from her fated rival, Caius Ballad. Finally she ends up becoming chosen by the god Bhunivelze as a savior tasked to rescue the people’s souls before the end of the world.

Originally, she makes herself known as she helps the adventurer during the Aurelia attack on the ship. Outside of this she is also known mainly as a major “representative” character for Final Fantasy XIV, and typically represents the game in crossover products for it.
Noctis is the Crown Prince and heir to the throne of Lucis, the kingdom to have control over the Crystal. Because of this he is able to wield the power of Lucian kings which allows him to wield spectral weapons which he forges from thin air.
