At the Granblue Festival 2017, a Niconico livestream was held by Granblue Fantasy featuring new action footage and several new screenshots for its upcoming 2018 PlayStation 4 game developed by Platinum Games, “Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link.”
In a previous footage there was a show of choppy framerate. For the latest gameplay, there was a showcase of a more polished state. For those who weren’t present for the livestream, there is a video of the game from the livestream, courtesy of DualShockers.
The video is eight minutes and features a broader look at the game’s broad setting, battle sequences and cutscenes. Also included with the video are a number of screenshots on the gameplay.
It was in August 2016 that the game was first announced at the Cygames Next 2016. At the time of the announcement it was confirmed that it would feature music by Nobuo Uematsu who previously worked the same role in the original game, and character designs by Hideo Minaba, who also did prior work on the original game as its director and is known to have collaborated on three “Final Fantasy” works.
Also working on the game are producer Koichi Haruta and director Tetsuya Fukuhara of Cygames. Followed after this announcement, a PS4 version for the game was revealed in September 2016. The new version for the 3D action RPG will be released in January 2018 in Japan.
Originally, Granblue Fantasy is a role-playing video game developed by Cygames and is available for Android, iOS and web browsers. First released in March 2014 in Japan, it features turn-based battles, summons and a class system that alters the main character’s move-set and growth. Another feature of the game is a ranking system of (from best to worst) SSR, SR, R, or N for characters, summons, and weapons who are also of type wind, water, fire, earth, light, or darkness.
Other than the “Granblue Fantasy” games, Cygames is also known to have worked on the card battle game, “Rage of Bahamut” which was launched in February 2012 and topped the Top Grossing Chart on US Google Play for over 16 weeks starting in April.
