Synopsis
Nakano is a regular salaryman who is weighted by the stress of working for an exploitive company. One day when he arrives home he discovers a kitsune girl cooking in his kitchen.
This is not some ordinary kitsune however, her name is Senko and she is a divine messenger fox who has made it her mission to take away the darkness in Nakano’s heart by spoiling him rotten as his new caretaker. This is the story of a fox girl and a salaryman living together.
The Good
The concept is interesting and the comedy was well established. Just the way that the interaction between Nakano and Senko is rather sweet for the most part and holds a lot of potential for the story. It’s rather interesting to see how the manga visualizes Nakano’s stress and “darkness” with this sort of aura around him that disappears at certain moments. Just the general structure and presentation of the chapter has a solid feel to it.
The art is also something to note as it has certain qualities that make it different from most modern work. It’s the little details yet overall simplicity in design of the characters that helps with the story presentation.
The Bad
For the most part the main issue with the chapter lies in the handful of amounts of generic points that are found in similar anime involving small kitsune girls. The whole sensitive tail thing, the kitsune looking older than she actually is and even the comedy work had the usual back and forth action that these type of manga tend to have. If you think about it, the story is rather safe for the most part in terms of introduction
But being the first chapter there is not much negativity to be given over it just yet given how simple the story is. Outside of its generic points the manga chapter did mostly well in terms of story introduction.
Conclusion
The concept and character relations are rather interesting though there are the generic and safe points to consider about the chapter. The art work holds a unique touch to it that makes the story distinct such as the dark aura and the character expressions. For the most part it gives a rather good highlight to the work. Overall it’s a pretty simple supernatural/fantasy work that has a cute concept and room to grow.
