A Guest Cast is Revealed for Doraemon's 38th film

A new character/cast member has been revealed for the 38th Doraemon film “Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Takarajima” a.k.a “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island.” The character’s name is Captain Silver and he will be voice by Yo Oizumi, a guest cast member for the film.

Details on the announcement can be found on the official website of the film. As for the character that Oizumi will be playing, he is described to be the captain of the pirate ship that attacks Nobita and the others, and who holds the key to the treasure hidden on Treasure Island.
The film itself tells the story of Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo on a Caribbean Sea adventure when Nobita attacks and kidnaps Shizuka.

In addition to this, a storm impedes their journey and Nobita has Mini-Dora robots helping him in his journey. But as the group discover the the mysterious Treasure Island, they discover it is more than just an ordinary island.

Not much else is confirmed for the cast of the cast but there is a set staff for the production. Acting as the director for the film is Kazuaki Imai, known to have worked as the episodes director of the “Doraemon” series. Genki Kawamura, who previously worked as the producer of feature films, “your name and “The Boy and the Beast” will be working as the scriptwriter of the film. The film will be making its debut on March 3.

The previous film of the franchise, “Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Nankyoku Kachi Kochi Daibōken” a.k.a. “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi” was released on March 4. During its run it earned more than 4.14 billion yen (about US$38.2 million) and became the highest-grossing anime in the current 12-installment Doraemon film series that began with the 2006 film “Doraemon: Nobita No Kyoryu.”

“Doraemon” is one of the longest running franchises in the anime/manga community. It began in 1969 with the manga series written and illustrated by Fujiko F. Fujio. Over time the series grew with a variety of manga, anime, and plenty of merchandise to go around.
