“Pokemon Go” has brought out all kinds of risk takers in the journey to capture all kinds of Pokemon. There are not many of them but there are those that do stand out are notable, case in point, the group of railway trespassers in Japan.
Out of 20,700 spending the weekend in the mobile app’s new Safari Zone, there 10 that made the decision to take the game to the tracks of the JR Inbi Line in Tottori. According to residents who made the report to police at 2:50 PM JT, approximately ten people walking along the track.
By the time the authorities arrived, the trespassers were nowhere to be found. Though there is no official report on why the people trespassed onto the tracks, it is fairly strongly believed that they were there for the Safari Zone event. Incidentally however, due to the investigation, there was a cause for delay which resulted in five trains being delayed for up to half an hour and around 800 passengers being affected.
The new Safari Zone is the latest addition to the “Pokemon Game.” Taking place along the Tottori Sand Dunes, it introduces the why the people trespassed onto the tracks, it is fairly strongly believed that they were there for the Safari Zone event. Another feature of the new zone is that there is a larger chance for Pokemon hunters to capture more Ground and Water types with the increase of their Poke spawns.
For those who may wonder if there was anything was found on the tracks, no. It has been heavily advised that no one make the same attempt as the group as there are no Pokemon there.
“Pokemon Go” was first released in July 2016 as a a free-to-play, location-based augmented reality game developed by Niantic. When it was first released the game reached a high amount of popularity for its innovative gameplay and as a work of the Pokemon franchise. In the game, players play as trainers who can use a GPS ability to locate, capture, battle, and train Pokemon.
The main feature that caught so many people’s attention was the augmented reality that had them travelling to different locations like actual trainers.
