It was just a season ago that the television anime of Tsukasa Fushimi’s Eromanga Sensei light novel series started and ended and now a new piece of rews has popped up for the franchise. As of Sunday, the official website of the series has announced that it will soon have an OVA (original video animation).
The OVA is already set to be released in the following year and is an a1n type of OVA that was announced at the “Eroman Fes” event.
“Eromanga Sensei”,is a romantic comedy series that started off as a light novel series written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki. Published in December 2018 under ASCII Media Works, it released a total of nine volumes under the group’s Dengeki Bunko imprint. It was in May 2014 that the manga adaptation of the series made its release with Rin as its illustrator, currently there are 6 chapters out.
The anime adaptation, which was produced by A-1 Pictures was released in April 2017 and spanned for a total of 12 episodes until June 2017. At the time of its run it was directed by Ryohei Takeshita, who previously worked as an animator and storyboard artist. As for the writer of the anime adaptation, it was Tatsuya Takahashi that took the role.
Described as a “new sibling romantic comedy”, this is the story of live novel author and high schooler Masamune Izumi. His only family is his little sister Sagiri, a shut-in girl who hasn’t left her room for an entire year and forces her brother to make and bring her meals when she stomps on the floor. One of the main wishes of Masumune is for his sister to leaver her room seeing as they only have each other.
While he faces this trouble he also faces having novel illustrator, pen name “Ero Manga Sensei.” Though they are highly reliable, they also draw extremely perverted drawings and this Masamune, who never met them, believes the illustrator to be a disgusting, perverted otaku. However, to his shock, the illustrator is none other than his own younger sister. And just when there isn’t enough chaos, a beautiful, female, best-selling shōjo manga creator becomes their rival.
