The series is set to be released in January 2018 and will be under the directing work of Atsuko Ishizuka with animation done by MADHOUSE. The story for the series tells of an expedition to Antarctica being taken on by a group of girls who include the following.
There is 2nd year high school student and the story’s protagonist Mari Tamaki who will be voiced by Inori Minase, who previously played a role in “18if” as Nene. Her character is described as curious and self-reliant girl and is adored by friends who nickname her as “Kimari.” However, she is uncomfortable in being the center of attention and often displays a timid side and sometimes fails to follow through with her goals.
Then there is Shirase Kobuchizawa who will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa, a voice actress currently playing a role in “Food Wars! The Third Plate” as Nene Kinokuni. A 2nd year high school student who goes to the same school as Mari she is described as dark-haired beauty with sober eyes.
In truth however, she is a painfully shy girl who has trouble speaking for when she does she ends up saying something negative and being misunderstood by many. Because of this she has few friends and is treated as a weirdo at school, where people refer to her as “South Pole” or “Shadow”.
Third is Yuka Iguchi, the voice behind Kuroko Shiina and Tadashi in “Aho Girl” as tiny, friendly, and gregarious Hinata Miyake. Described as being able to get along with anyone as if she were an elementary school age boy, she is overflowing with curiosity and hates being bored and feeling left out. Because of this she is quick to jump at any opportunity to make friends.
Last but not least is Yutsuki Shiraishi, a 1st year high school student who is one grade below Kimari. Voiced by Saori Hayami, who previously voiced Yumeko Jabami in the gambling series “Kakegurui”, Yutsuki is described to be living in Hokkaido and has been a child actor since she was little under her mother’s urging.
As a result of constantly being under the spotlight though, Yutsuki has grown to be cynical and mature. In addition to this she also puts up a front of being polite, but on the inside, she is unhappy and filled with complaints.
