Synopsis
This is the tale of a female manager named Chisato who at work is as serious as can be yet works her hardest but behind this aloof figure there lies a cute character that comes out with a good drink created by her husband Sora.
The Good
As a series with short episodes, the way it has managed to slip in multiple sweet moments along good visuals on the drinks, there is quite a bit to enjoy. One of the man highlights to find with the series so far is the relationship with the main couple. It is interesting to see how they play off one another and how much they care for one another.
Also, the fact that for one or two episodes, they show Sora as more than the smiley husband who serves her wife delicious alcoholic beverages is a commendable point for the series. Half the time, there isn’t a lot of husband characters like this in the anime community so someone like Sora, who doesn’t present himself as the usual characteristics of his character image.
Another fun tidbit to enjoy about the series is how creative they are in coming up with drinks for each episode. And the fact that they are able to slip in the ingredients and process of the beverages while keeping with the general flow of the episode is a plus point to the series. It takes a lot of creativity and wits to create series with only 3 minutes per episode yet still manage to slip in a general plot and maintain its good points as each episode goes on.
While Sora is an enjoyable and refreshing character, he is not the only good character of the series. The way that they are able to portray Chisato’s contrasting sides and her feelings for Sora makes for an endearing watch. There’s just a lot of sweet moments to enjoy with the series.
The Bad
While there is a lot of sweet moments to the series, there are also points to the work that could have been done better. For one thing, Chisato’s portrayals between her being drunk and her being sober could have been done a little better. Sure, it improved in the latest episodes, but it would have been nice to see more of her side outside of being drink other than her not being able to express herself all that well and being generally shy.
In general, while it is nice to see the different relationship points of the husband and wife, it would have been nice to see how they are outside of the drinking point, though it is the central point of the series. Being a short series, there is only so much that can be criticized given the short presentation time and consideration for the theme.
Conclusion
The series as an entirety, is sweet work to watch fro a few good laughs and lots of smiles. On the other hand, as a pretty short series, there are some miss points such as the portrayal of the main characters outside of their drunk/together moments. Other than that little nitpick though, the series itself has some good art in terms of drinks and a clever use of time when presenting the beverages and keeping with the flow of the plot. Overall, a sweet series with just a hint of misses here and there but still worth the watch.
