Synopsis
If you were given the choice, what would you be? A vampire, zombie or human? This was the choice given in the latest social game and from one choice, everything changes for everyone
Why Stick with It
If you’re looking for a work with an explosive opening, a decent amount of good action art and an interesting concept that is focused on the classic/cliche concept of ending up in a different world all mixed together. Sure it might have been done with different series but the idea that the character immediately gets dropped into the new world right after making his choice is pretty interesting and the fact that he wasn’t completely distracted but the first pretty girl he meets is a plus as well.
Art wise it’s similar to many good shounen series but also has some quality to it in terms of little details like the monsters designs and action scene layout. The fact that they managed to slip a page of slight humor by inserting a washing machine looking item of all thing into the new world is quite funny.
Why Drop it
Sure the plot is different, sure the art style got some style to it, but it still has a rather predictable formula to it and has pretty predictable scenarios for the future. For example, the protagonist of the work has chosen be a human in the game where he could have either been an undead or a vampire. For long time readers of this genre, you can already imagine him meeting a “different” girl and working his way into becoming a strong survivor in this new life or death situation while also trying to figure out the mystery of why they ended up in the situation that they are in.
Then there is also the consideration that the ending/rising action for the story came a little bit on the rushed side. But like any other first episode/chapter there is only so much judgement on the negatives to give. Still, it can be admitted that there will be at least a dash of clicheness in future chapters
Conclusion
From the look of things this is pretty much going to be a hit or miss depending on the viewer. In the world of anime and manga, first impressions are a strong thing and for some people a deal break whether to continue with the manga. Here we have an interesting concept but a familiar concept, some interesting but usual art designs and overall a solid but quick jump in type of premise that might either draw in or drive away people.
