An Evagelion and Hortensia Collaboration Opens with Pre-registration

As of October 20, it has officially been confirmed that the fantasy smartphone game, “Hortensia Saga” will be having a collaboration with mech series, “Evangelion.” Revealed on the 29th episode of their official livestream, there will be pre-registration campaign to be held and special rewards are already prepared.

To commemorate the collaboration a teaser page containing the silhouettes of Shinji, Asuka, Rei, Kaworu, and Mari has been put up. Should 20,000 plus people take part of the pre-registration campaign they have a chance to win an SSR Kaworu. Other prizes can be claimed at a number of 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000 respectively.

“Hortensia Saga”, which is fully known as “Hortensia Saga: Aoi no Kishidan”, is an iOS/Android game that sets place in a fantasy realm engaged in war. Warring against each other are the Kingdoms of Hortensia and Camelia. The gameplay sets the player as a young lord of a kingdom and being set into a plot in line with the war.

“Evangelion” on the other hand is a mecha series that is fully known as “Neon Genensis Evangelion”/“The Gospel of the New Century" and was written and illustrated by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and created by Hideaki Anno. First released in in the February issue of Shōnen Ace in December 1994 the series ran for a total of 14 volumes until June 2013.

During the manga’s run in 1995, an anime adaptation of the manga series was produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production and directed by Hideaki Anno. The series ran for a total of 26 episodes and ended in 1996. Set in a fifteen years after a worldwide catclysm in Tokyo, this story tells of a teenager named Shinji. Due to his father recruiting him into an organization known as Nerv, Shinji now finds himself as the pilot to the Evangelion, a giant bio-machine mecha that is acting as the main defense against monstrous beings known as Angels. This is the story of his experience and emotional journey as a pilot.

On another note, the game will be taking part of a f4 FanFestival to take place on December 3, 2017 in Tokyo and will be having two parts. The first will take place from 11:30 to 13:00 and will be involving mini stories, a quiz corner and appearances from cast members. For the second part, it will be taking place at 17: 30 to 20: 00 and will be having a special performance from the voice actors.
