Media Company Broccoli Confirms 70% Profit Drop in its 1st Half of Fiscal Year

It was reported on Friday by media company Broccoli that their profits in its first half of the fiscal year dropped to a massive 70%. From March until August 31, its individual sales were at 2.252 billion yen, which is a 19.17% drop from the same period last year.

Currently, the company’s operating income is 99 million yen which is a 73.39% drop from last year with 85 million yen of operating profit which is a 76.8% drop. The operating profit sales were dropped to 13.15% last year in the same period to this year at 3.77%. Broccoli’s predicts that its operating income from March 1 2017 to February 28, 2018 would be 700 million. So far, it is still at 14.14% to its goal.

Aside from being known for Aquarian Age, Di Gi Charat, and Galaxy Angel franchises, Broccoli was also part of the productions of Sister Princess, H2O l~Footprints in the Sand~, and Pita Ten. The “Gamers” retain chain in Japan is also owned by the company but sold it Animate 2011. It had publishing and retail operations in the United States under the subsidiary, Broccoli International USA. However, it shut down its operations in 2008.
