The Final Fantasy franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary! To kick off the celebration, Square Enix has released some goodies for fans earlier this year like Final Fantasy themed bento boxes, posters, as well as a projection mapping of a short Final Fantasy film on the wall of the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel. Rare and out-of-print Final Fantasy Play Arts figures were also put on exhibition at the Yokohama Doll Museum.

The celebration continues until next year as a “Farewell Exhibition” will happen at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower on January 22. Based on the announcement from this year’s Tokyo Game Show, the exhibition will feature the main installments from the very first Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy YL was also announced during the said the game event. However, this is not a video game, but a collaboration of Square Enix and Japan Railway East’s Yamanote. There is still not much information about it but the game company will be revealing more details in the future.

The 30th anniversary event will also have a voice actor drama reading to be held at the Nakao Sun Plaza from December 18 and 19. The drama reading titled ”Dissidia Final Fantasy SECRETUM –Himitsu-“ will star Squall Leonhart, Cloud Strife, and Tidus. This is of course based from the popular arcade game Dissidia Final Fantasy. A Final Fantasy fan tribute video contest will also be happening soon.

To top it all off, Square Enix has also announced that the very first Final Fantasy rollercoaster will be at established at Universal Studios Japan and is expected to opening on January 19.

More announcements, contents, and events will be announced by the company very soon. With all these events mentioned so far, it just proves that the Final Fantasy franchise is continued to be loved by many fans around the world.
