Collaboration Merchandise of Sanrio and ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ to Release This Fall!

It was announced before that Sanrio and Fullmetal Alchemist collaborated to produce cute and irresistible toys and merchandise. During the Sanrio Expo that happened on Friday, more designs were revealed as well as the announcement that that following merchandise that will be on sale starting this Fall. During the event, the actor for Gluttony in the upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist live-action movie made an appearance in the merchandise promotion.

Bags, keychains, plushes, and many more are being unveiled during the event. The said collaboration uses five design variations featuring the Fullmetal Alchemist characters drawn in cute Sanrio-style designs.

The design variations are the following: “lovable stew”, “pea-sized runt”, “incompetent on rainy days” and “lovable apple pie”. Aside from these, a “picture book” design and a “vintage card” design inspired from the old labels and cards are also being featured. You can check out the product images below:

The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga will premiere in Japan on December 1. The film will be directed by Fumihiko Sori and promises to fans that the movie will be closely accurate to its original source.

To quote Sori, “I want to create a style that follows the original manga as much as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe. However, it’s a style that doesn’t represent a specific race or country."

Ryosuke Yamada will play the role of Edward Elric, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, and Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell. Other cast and crew members include the following:

As a special treat for those who will be watching the movie on its premiere date in Japan, a “special-edition comic” created by the original manga creator Hiromu Arakawa will be given away until supplies last.
