The “Osomatsu-san”, otherwise known as “Mr. Osomatsu”, series originally began as the “Osomatsu-kun” series created by Fujio Akatsuka in 1962. The series was serialized by Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine until 1969 and tells the daily comedic adventures of the Matsuno brothers, a sextuplets set, as children. The series had a total 34 volumes and when it was adapted into an anime adaptation, ran for 56 episodes from 1966-1967.

The turning of “Osomatsu-kun” to “Osomatsu-san” came around in 2015 with an anime reboot of the series. Aired in October 2015, the series fast forwards to the Matsuno sextplets as 20 something adults and tells of their crazy daily adventures as lazy NEETs. In the course of its run the first season spanned for 25 episodes then was followed by 4 specials.
