The English Version of Fate/Grand Order Game Reached Over 1 Million Downloads

The long running “Fate” series adds a new milestone with its 2015 RPG smartphone game “Fate/Grand Order.” As of Thursday, Aniplex USA has confirmed that the English version of the games has reached 1 million downloads and to celebrate this both the game and Aniplex USA and the game have opened a new feature and prizes for players.

When the game was first released in Japan by Aniplex during the summer, its download count reach to over 9 million. On the first 12 hours after launching its English version on June 25, the download count reached 100,000.

Now with the new milestone reached, players will have a chance to play the game’s character Sakata Gintoki, a 5-star Berserker-class Servant, which will be a first for “Fate/Grand Order.” On Aniplex USA’s side, with a total of 10,000 Likes and 2,000 shares in one of their Facebook posts, they will be offering prizes to players who log in everyday from September 7 to 21.

On another note, plans to have the game enter into Japanese arcades by  Type-Moon, Aniplex, Delight Works Inc., and Sega. Not only that, coming in winter, a VR game for “Fate/Grand Order” will also be launched.

“Fate/Grand Order”, based on the “Fate/stay Night” visual game and a reboot of the original Fate/Apocrypha project, is an online RPG game developed by Type-Moon and open for both Android and iOS.

In the game, the player takes on the role of a “Master” and engage in turn-based battles alongside their “Servants”, powerful familiars that they are able to summon. For each Servant that the player summons, the more scenarios they will find with each one. The main story of the game tells of an alternate world where in a certain point in time, sorcery comes to existence and in turn came The Chaldea Security Organization.

Their work? To research on maintaining human existence until the next century. But upon discovering an anomaly in their system, they find that in the coming year of 2016, which is 2018 in the English version, humanity will cease to exist. Thus, they make use of their sixth experiment in order to restore things to the way there are meant to be, time travel.

Throughout the run of the game, a variety of adaptations have been inspired from it. As of now there is a 74-minute anime, two manga works and even a stage play inspired from the series.
