Pretty sure a lot of us were able to watch the first season of Pokemon as a kid and we grew to love the trio of Ash, Misty, and Brock. As the seasons went on, we were already introduced to new companions who were with Ash while missing the original cast who were there with him from the start of his journey.
After 15 years, both of the characters will be returning on the latest season of the Pokemon anime!
The latest season of the anime was given mixed reviews from fans mostly due to the different animation styles and character design changes. Brock and Misty will be reintroduced in this new season for two consecutive episodes start on September 14. To refresh your memory, Misty left the original anime series in 2002 while Brock left after the Diamon & Pearl anime that ended in 2010. It was confirmed in the latest Pokemon movie titled Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! that both of them were not included regardless if the movie was a retelling of the beginning of Ash’s journey to become a Pokemon Master.
The original voice actress of Kasumi (Misty’s original Japanese name) Mayumi Iizuka is also excited for the anime’s upcoming episodes and expressed in a tweet posted on Tuesday.
Below is translation of her tweet:
Takeshi and Kasumi will appear in the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime on September 14 & 21!
Everybody!! I wanted to meet you again! Forever, my steady!!*
*"My steady" is her catchphrase when she throws a Pokeball.
Pokemon’s first stage of international popularity began on its handheld GameBoy Color and trading card game. The immense hype has paved way for an anime adaptation which has been received well by both children and adults alike. Aside from the mentioned Pokemon media, it also had its Augmented Reality game Pokemon GO which is still one of the most downloaded applications for both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
15 years is quite long. Let’s hope that our heroes will remain the same as we anticipate for the adventures that they will face in the upcoming episodes.
